About the event
This meeting is a step up from the first 'AI in Photography' meeting that had such a great response.
I've made substantial up-dates to the first talk, so even if you attended the first talk, you will find heaps of new material.
We will cover:
- What is Artificial Intelligence? – in simple, accurate terms.
- Artificial intelligence: how much does modern photography depend on it?
- Text-to-image AI models (e.g. DALL-E, Adobe Firefly, Midjourney): how they do what they do.
- Copyright and ethical issues: how it already affects you, even if you don’t know it.
- The near-future for photography and AI.
My talk will be non-technical, with only enough detail to ensure you don’t stumble into the errors that are hobbling many discussions.
We’re truly at the dawn of photography’s Second Digital Revolution. It’s exciting, it’s scary, but the future is here. How it develops depends on how we handle it!
You’re sure to have heaps of questions, so I will allow plenty of Q&A time.
Twenty-five years ago, I was one of the first to adopt digital photography into professional practice and write several of the first books to popularise digital photography. For the last 18 months I’ve been a beta test for OpenAI using DALL-E, as well as applications such as Topaz Photo AI.
