FAQs

Membership is available only for those who meet all of the following criteria:

  1. An individual residing in Australia, who is a minimum 18 years of age;
  2. A professional, self-employed individual, or an employee of a professional imaging business, who plays a direct and active role in the creation of moving or still images for third parties with a large proportion of income derived from this creation;
  3. Owns a minimum of two (2) Sony "Alpha" interchangeable lens cameras with at least one camera having a full frame sensor, purchased from an authorised Sony reseller in Australia;
  4. Owns a minimum of three (3) Sony lenses (must have Zeiss, G Master or G Series badge), purchased from an authorised Sony reseller in Australia; and
  5. Is approved by Sony as a Member.
Register your details via the PRO Support website, complete the online membership form, upload any required documentation, pay the membership fee, then one of our support team will be in touch to provide you with your membership details so you can start enjoying Sony Imaging PRO Support membership benefits.
If approved Members have uploaded a valid proof of purchase, and we have verified that your product is In-Warranty (under Sony’s consumer warranties and/or your consumer guarantee rights under the Australian Consumer Law) the repair time is 3 business days in house. Please allow additional time for shipping to and from the repair centre. Rural areas may take longer.
No! One of the benefits of being a PRO Support member, is no out-of-pocket shipping expenses!
Here at Sony, we understand that certain things happen and that for unexplainable reasons you may not have your proof of purchase. If this is the case, please contact us as soon as possible and we will assess it on a case by case basis.
This is not guaranteed. As a PRO Support member you still receive priority repair to the best of our ability, however we cannot guarantee the expedited 3 day in house turnaround for Out Of Warranty repairs that applies to In Warranty repairs. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for further information.
One of the benefits of being a PRO Support member is receiving a 20% discount on parts for Out of Warranty repairs. If you are unsure about your warranty or would like to discuss it further, please contact us when lodging your request through your member dashboard.
The overall clean and maintenance check service available to Members includes the below, as applicable:

Loan products are issued to current PRO Support members in cases where repairs (either In Warranty or Out Of Warranty) exceed 3 business days in house. Equipment is loaned on a case by case basis and is dependent on product availability.

To be eligible for the PRO Support expedited repairs, your product must either be In-Warranty with an Australian proof of purchase, or where applicable have a Tourist Limited Warranty issued by a participating Sony country (not all Sony countries issue Tourist Limited Warranties).

Your PRO Support membership will need to be renewed each year by logging onto your member dashboard. Sony will send you a series of reminder emails close to the end of your membership year to remind you of your renewal.

We will assess each request for membership and will let you know within 2-3 weeks of your application. You must have met all of the eligibility requirements to become a member.

In the unlikely event that your application is not accepted, we will let you know by phone or email and your membership fee (paid during the application process) will be fully refunded.

We are positive that you will love being a member of PRO Support, however in the case that you wish to terminate your membership you may submit your cancellation request in writing via the PRO Support email. You will receive a pro-rata refund for the remainder of your Membership year from the time of termination. Please refer to our T&C's for further information.
No, PRO Support memberships are only eligible to the individual that signed up. Other individuals will need to sign up for their own PRO Support account and must meet all of the eligibility requirements.
