About the event
Join me for a hike to the Pinnacles, staying overnight. Moderate fitness required.
This is a free event; the $20 fee covers the cost of a bed at the Pinnacles Hut, which has already been booked.
Meeting at the carpark at Kauaeranga Valley Road End, at 1.00pm we will start the approx. 4 hour hike to the Pinnacles Hut. Staying overnight to capture sunrise and sunset, we will do the additional 30 minute hike, the final stages, to the Pinnacles for incredible views.
With it being a new moon, if the skies are clear, we will also have the possiblity of capturing the night sky!
If you'd like to use some Sony gear, bodies or lenses, please let me know beforehand so I can arrange to have it available for the event. This provides the perfect opportunity to try before you buy, or simply have a play around with some different gear.
Techniques covered
- There will be no direct tuition but I will be available for any questions you may have. I will provide guidance and tips throughout the event.
What to bring
- Camera & lenses
- Tripod
- Hiking gear (including wet weather gear)
- Sleeping bag
- Warm clothing
- Sturdy footwear
- Food and water (enough for your overnight stay)
