About the event
The package includes:
- Ferry with Fullers360 to and from Auckland central
- Accommodation for the night on the island (boutique hostel)
- A night under the stars learning how to capture the night sky and the Milky Way
- A processing session to make the most of your RAW files
- A guided nature walk on the island
- A $50 donation to the Rotoroa Island Trust, a nonprofit restoring the island sanctuary

Please have the weekend of 31st Aug/1st Sep available in case the weather doesn't permit the event going ahead on the planned dates.
Note: This event is suitable for all skill levels but at a minimum you should be comfortable operating your camera in manual mode and be able to navigate through your camera's settings.
Techniques covered
- Astro photography - from the basics to the more advanced capturing techniques
- Post processing - learn to make the most of those RAW files, create stitch panoramas and stack images
- A guided nature walk with one of the knowledgeable and passionate island rangers
What to bring
- Food for two days (there are cooking facilities on the island)
- Linen (pillowcase [pillow is provided], sleeping bag or duvet/bed sheets, and towels)
- Camera and lenses (wide angle for astro, others for wildlife/landscape during the day)
- Tripod
- Torch or head torch
- Laptop to follow along during processing session (optional) - NB: Download a free trial version of Adobe Lightroom if you don't have this software application already
