I've been a freelance architectural photographer for 20 years and moved to Aotearoa in 2015. I went with Sony some years back and have a handy selection of lenses to use and a couple of bodies, whilst using adapters for my architectural tilt shift lenses.

As well as my work in architecture I'm always doing a side project to keep my creative juices flowing. I've run a podcast interviewing New Zealand photographers and been awarded a NZIA Presidents Award and the Athfield Cup for my contribution to the architectural community. I frequently show my photography artwork and books at exhibitions and events. My photography has been collected by the Alexander Turnbull Library. I'm looking forward to being a Sony Advocate so I can pass on my knowledge to others through events on the Scene platform.

What is in your camera bag?

After 20 years the answer is pretty much everything is in the cupboard for me to choose from but the camera bag will have the core lenses I need for a shoot, my Mavic Pro 3 Drone, sometimes some additional lighting for interiors (I love a pop of light coming through a window so often place the flash outside to create some sun), video glide track if that's what is needed, wireless mics for some recording.... it depends!

Most memorable moment shooting with Alpha?

One of the great joys of being an architectural photographer, for me, is having the chance to go where most people done have the opportunity. From shooting a house on Stewart Island, flying over to the West Coast on a tiny plane to a school in Karemea, spending hours at the top of an empty skyscraper in London to get a 360 panorama, going to a rural bach in Northland with an amazing architect.... the list goes oin and on..... I recognise the great priviledge this job gives me and always greateful to have the Sony System in my bag next to me with its reliability.
