World Photo Adventures

Darran and Julia have a combined 80+ years of working in the photography, travel and tour industries. Son’s Pearce (Bachelor of Photography, at Photography Studies College Melbourne) and Frazer (Sony Digital Imaging Advocate) also offer unique experience, guiding over 60 events each world wide. Both young men also run their photo businesses. Julia became a professional travel agent in 1983. Julia has worked for travel retailers and wholesalers, plus of course, many years as the office manager for our business. Julia is very travelled, having visited every continent and many islands. Darran first guided a group while in Central Queensland in 1981. He has a vast portfolio of photography work and accomplishments. To this day, he supplies articles for publications like Australian Photography Magazine. In addition, Darran has been involved with over 400 photo events worldwide. 

World Photo Adventures offers an extensive range of workshops in Australia and incredible tours world wide.

We cover a broad spectrum of subjects, depending on the event and location. In Australia, it can be landscapes to birds, nature to macro. We love to add special creative shoots. Overseas, it could again be a mix of subjects, or we might target something like the culture of Bhutan and in Africa Big Game. Our itineraries help with detailed information.

WPA is travel accredited and audited annually to assure the best travel business practices. This includes: 

  • WPA uses professional and licensed local operators worldwide.
  • WPA is a strong advocate for supporting local economies, creating local jobs and minimising environmental impact. Your bookings help to directly feed families and help communities less well off. Likewise, your bookings directly benefit environmental groups from small village reserves, to huge national parks.
  • WPA strongly promotes re-use and recycling from limiting water bottle use (supplying bulk water when possible) to smart use of water.
  • Finally, World Photo Adventures is fully covered by Tour Operator Insurance. This is not standard travel insurance and is not available until a rigorous check of a businesses procedures and use of travel operators is made.
