Known for his work across the world's oceans and environments, Brett has photographed everything from whales and sharks to polar bears, penguins and marine life across the globe. His images have been featured internationally, including appearances through publications and programs such as the BBC's Deadly 60.

For this special Georges Cameras experience, Brett will take you behind the scenes of his approach to wildlife photography, sharing how he combines technical skill, creative thinking and storytelling to create images that inspire people to care about the natural world.

This is not just about photographing animals.

It's about understanding behaviour, working respectfully with wildlife, building a connection with your subject and creating images with purpose.

A Unique Wildlife Photography Experience

Throughout the evening, attendees will experience three different approaches to wildlife photography:

Wildlife Portraits

Explore how Brett approaches creating striking animal portraits, including understanding your subject, composition, lighting and the technical decisions that help create memorable images.

Conservation Portraits

Learn how wildlife photography can tell a larger story by combining animals, people and environment.

Working alongside animal keepers, attendees will see how conservation stories are created through portraiture, similar to the work seen across wildlife ambassadors and conservation campaigns.

Birds In Flight

Put your skills to the test as Brett demonstrates the challenges of photographing movement, anticipation, autofocus and timing while capturing birds in flight.

Lighting & Equipment

This workshop will feature Nanlite lighting setups, demonstrating how artificial light can be used creatively in wildlife and conservation portraiture.

You'll also have the opportunity to see professional Sony equipment in action and understand how different lenses, autofocus systems and camera settings are used in real-world situations.

About Brett Lobwein

Brett Lobwein is an award-winning Australian photographer specialising in wildlife, conservation and underwater imagery.

Growing up around the waterways of Sydney's Port Hacking River, Brett developed a lifelong connection with the ocean and the natural world. His photography journey began underwater, eventually taking him around the globe photographing marine life and wildlife in some of the world's most remote locations.

From swimming with humpback whales in Tonga, photographing sharks in Cuba, penguins in Antarctica, polar bears in the Arctic and orcas in Norway, Brett's work focuses on representing animals authentically and respectfully.

Brett is a Sony Digital Imaging Advocate, Ambassador for Isotta Underwater Housings, member of The Explorers Club and Ocean Artists Society, with his work published internationally.
