About the event

This is an entry level workshop for newcomers to the camera department in the Film & TV industry. It is also for industry professionals looking to switch departments. This 1 day intensive course will provide attendees with the essentials skills to start your career in the following roles: Camera Trainee, Truck Loader, Video Split assistant, DIT assistant

At the workshop you will receive the following lessons:

  • Setting up your freelance business & how to get work
  • Film set etiquette
  • Overview of camera body, lenses, mounts, accessories, FIZ motors & wireless Video
  • Protocols for swinging lenses, filters, cards, batteries
  • Protocols for mounting, balancing and moving the camera. Tripod, Dolly & Slider. Working with the Grip team
  • AC workwear, onset kit, slating, radio etiquette, trolleys & cleaning protocols
  • DIT and Data equipment overview
  • Camera Truck overview. Tailgate, Power, Unloading & Loading protocols
  • Camera Van overview
  • On location protocols, wet weather, KD setup
