Hot air balloon flight with Sony

We are excited to announce an incredible photographic experience in the beautiful Yarra Valley that is not to be missed! Join Sony Australia, Phototourism and Croydon Camera House for an action-packed day that includes a hot air balloon flight.

Come and explore the Yarra Valley with us and capture all its beauty, we will supply a range of professional Sony equipment for you to use on the day.

Meeting bright and early at Balgownie Estate Yarra Valley you will be greeted by the teams at Sony Australia, Phototourism and Croydon Camera House. This is where we will begin our hot air balloon journey with Global Ballooning. For this experience we will supply a wide range of professional Sony equipment for you to use on the day, you are of course welcome to bring your own gear too.

Grab your tripod, dial up the ISO and start capturing all the action as we watch the burners illuminating the paddocks as the balloons grow to their full size. Once they are ready we will board the balloons and rise into the sky, here we'll help you capture beautiful images as we float off with the wind. From the sky, you'll be able to capture the beauty of the Yarra Valley in ways you never have before. You can make use of our professional Sony equipment or use your own to get the perfect shot.

Following our one-hour balloon flight over the Yarra Valley (one of the world’s most picturesque flying regions) we will land and assist with pack up of the balloon (another great photographic opportunity). We will then be treated to a sparkling breakfast where we will reflect on the thrilling experience, share images and tips from the Sony team.

With full bellies we head off to our next stop, a visit to a deer and emu farm where we can wander the hills and valleys to capture that natural look against the morning light.

Next we travel to an old railway in Healesville where we can explore and take inspiration from the historic railway. Next, we travel to an old homestead where there are working blacksmiths, and we’ll capture rustic images and the colourful characteristics of the blacksmiths.

Here we will reflect on our photography and Sony, Rod Black of Phototourism and our team will be available to answer any photography or Sony product questions.

Tickets are $500 per person and includes a one-hour hot air balloon flight with global ballooning, champagne breakfast, transport from Balgownie Estate to our other locations, access to a deer farm, access to a railway, access and demonstration at a historic blacksmith, use of a wide range of professional Sony cameras and lenses and tuition from the teams at Sony Australia, Phototourism and Croydon Camera House.
