About the event
If you’ve ever looked at a photo and felt it hit instantly—then looked at your own work and thought, “Mine’s good… but it’s missing something”—this session is built for you!
We’re hosting a special 2-hour talk with Clyde Vaughan, all about what actually makes an image great in 2026. Not megapixels. Not spec sheets. The real stuff: light, composition, colour, timing—and the small decisions that turn a “nice shot” into something you’d happily print and hang.
Why you’ll want a ticket
You’re not coming for a lecture—you’re coming for a clear, practical upgrade in how you shoot and how you see. By the end of the night, you’ll walk away with:
-
A simple framework for why some photos instantly “hit” (and how to build that into your own work)
-
Real-world guidance on using light, composition, colour, and timing together—not as separate tricks
-
The small techniques and decisions that push an image from “nice” to “print this”
-
Live Q&A plus feedback opportunities so you can get unstuck faster
What happens on the night
Clyde will run through a selection of powerful photographs from a range of photographers and unpack what’s really going on in each image—what makes it work, what makes it memorable, and how you can borrow those ideas without copying anyone.
You’ll also have the chance to ask Clyde questions about your photography, workflow, editing, or gear. And if you want, bring along a few of your favourite images (print or digital) to share with the room—because seeing how other people shoot and think is half the value.
On the night, our panel will also award a prize for the strongest image presented, chosen by our experts.
