Photography is beautiful when you start, and the world available is ever-expanding, but at some point, you can be buttoned down by rules and ideas that narrow your focus and can lead to trying to be perfect in your chosen field. This workshop is about breaking that mindset, trying something fun, weird, and downright wrong. Learning that mistakes can help you break out of the cycle of perfection-seeking and provide new insights into your practice.
Our host, abstract portrait photographer Bruce Moyle, will start with a simple studio portrait and journey across ideas with mixed lights, unusual camera movement, and generally make a complete hash of it—but in a good way.
Try living on the edge. Make something just strange, weird. You can always format your cards afterward to hide the evidence.
NOTE: Anyone with photosensitive seizures, this probably isn’t the workshop for you. Sorry.
