About the event
Cap off each day of SceneScape with a camera in hand and Melbourne's streets as your canvas.
We're running two sessions across the weekend, giving you the chance to experience the same streets in completely different light.
Day 1 — Saturday 3 October, 5:00pm to 7:00pm
The afternoon session kicks off right as SceneScape wraps for the day. Golden hour light, long shadows, and the streets starting to come alive for the evening. Meet at the main steps of the Royal Exhibition Building at 5:00pm.
Day 2 — Sunday 4 October, 7:00am to 9:00am
The morning session is a completely different beast. Soft light, quiet streets, and Carlton before the crowds arrive. If you want the city to yourself, this is it. Meet at the main steps of the Royal Exhibition Building at 7:00am.
Both sessions are challenge-based, with challenges unlocked progressively through the WalkHost platform as the walk moves. Keep your phone handy alongside your camera.
The route takes in Carlton Gardens, the ornate facade of the Royal Exhibition Building, Colonial Square, and winds south toward East Melbourne's heritage streetscapes. Plenty of leading lines, texture, and architecture to work with across both sessions.
Open to all skill levels and all cameras.
Register for one session or both. Numbers are limited so book your spot early.
