Masterclass: using your mirrorless camera in video mode with DP Tim Hawkins

About the event

Do you want to improve your video skills? Join veteran DOP and Sony Digital Imaging Ambassador Tim Hawkins for an exclusive afternoon workshop in the beautiful Mulgoa Valley learning to capture high-end documentary skills.

Description:

Are you maximising the capabilities of your Sony Alpha camera, or are you only using half its power?

Join Sony Digital Imaging Ambassador Tim Hawkins for The Hybrid Photographer—an immersive, hands-on video workshop tailored specifically for photographers looking to step confidently into professional level, broadcast quality videography.

Hosted on a private hobby farm in the picturesque Mulgoa Valley and including afternoon tea, this half-day masterclass is timed perfectly to make the most of the beautiful afternoon light. You will learn practical field techniques while shooting magnificent highland cattle, horses in motion and sweeping valley landscapes.

With over 30 years of experience as a Director of Photography crafting high-end documentaries and TV programs, Tim Hawkins is a passionate advocate for using compact mirrorless cameras in video mode. He’ll cut through the intimidating jargon and show you how to pull cinema-grade results out of the gear you already own. You'll also have the chance to touch and try the latest Sony cinema cameras, Alpha cameras and the newly announced Sony FX5.
