Shoot, edit and build a profitable pet photography business.

About the event

Dogs are one of the most rewarding subjects you can photograph, and one of the most challenging. They don't take direction, they move constantly, and every dog brings its own personality and quirks to the session. Getting consistently great results takes a real understanding of animal behaviour, not just camera settings.

This three-hour hands-on masterclass with Ina Jalil covers the full picture. You'll watch a live demonstration with real dogs, work through an editing workflow in Lightroom and Photoshop, and get an honest look at what it takes to build a pet photography business that's actually profitable.

Ina has photographed over 1,000 dogs across six years, holds multiple international pet photography awards, and was named a 2023 Australian Small Business Champion. She specialises in working with anxious, reactive, and sensitive dogs, and brings that same calm, practical approach to everything she teaches.

What you'll cover:

Part 1: Photographing Dogs (approx. 75 mins)
A live demonstration covering how to read dog behaviour, handle dogs on location, work confidently with anxious and reactive dogs, use natural light effectively, get the right angles, and create a variety of images clients will actually want to purchase. Questions welcome throughout.

Part 2: Editing Workflow (approx. 60 mins)
A practical walkthrough of Ina's Lightroom and Photoshop process, from culling and selecting the best images to show clients, through to advanced editing including removing leads and background distractions.

Part 3: Business Model and Pricing (approx. 30 mins)
A straightforward look at how to structure a pet photography business, how to price your work, and what it takes to make this niche financially sustainable. No fluff, just what actually works.
