Women in Focus: Rachel Jordan

I’m beyond excited to kick off my Women in Focus: Stories Behind the Lens webinar series with an incredible first guest: Rachel Jordan, a powerhouse in the world of photography with an inspiring story to match.

Rachel’s photographic journey began over 25 years ago when she picked up her first digital point-and-shoot camera. That moment sparked a lifelong passion, leading her to travel the world solo, capturing street scenes and portraits of people from all walks of life. Her love for storytelling through imagery naturally led her into wedding and fine art portrait photography—both of which became an integral part of her creative identity.

But Rachel’s life as a professional image maker hasn’t been without challenges. While photographing a wedding she was involved in a helicopter crash that left her facing years of rehabilitation to learn how to walk again. Through sheer determination, resilience, and a deep love for photography, she fought her way back, returning to weddings stronger than ever.

Her work has been published in numerous magazines and she has won multiple awards (including the portrait category at the 2024 Alpha Awards). She is a true testament to the power of passion and perseverance.
