Yarra valley CherryHill Blossom Photo Walk

Cherry blossom season in the Yarra Valley doesn’t stick around long, but when it hits, the hills turn into an absolute wall of pale pink and white. We’re spending an easygoing afternoon roaming the tree rows at CherryHill Orchards. It’s an open invite to get out into the fresh air, connect with fellow creators, and capture some crisp seasonal work for your feed or portfolio.

Make sure to secure your Blossom Festival pass online via CherryHill’s site prior to arrival. Blossoms have their own schedule, so we keep an eye on how the orchard is looking—if we need to tweak our meetup time slightly for better conditions, you'll hear from us early.

What We’re Doing This is a social, shooting-first session. As we wander through the orchard lanes, we’ll dive into dialing in the right exposure for pale flowers, using tree lines for clean perspective, and catching that golden afternoon backlight as it filters through the branches.

All camera setups are welcome. If you want to take some Sony gear for a spin in the field, a selection of bodies and sharp G Master prime/zoom lenses will be available to try during the walk. Let me know two weeks in advance if there’s a specific lens on your wishlist.

• Dialing in high-key exposures so delicate pale blossoms don't blow out into white blobs

•  Using orchard geometry and compression to create dense, layered backdrops
