Young Shutterbugs Workshop: Discovering the Art of Photography

Calling all young photography enthusiasts aged 10 to 16! Join us for an exciting and interactive photography workshop that will unlock your creativity, unleash your imagination, and help you capture the world around you like never before. Whether you're a budding photographer or just looking to have some photographic fun, this workshop is designed just for you.

1. Studio and Outdoor Adventures: We'll explore the dynamic world of photography both in the studio and outdoors at The Rose Gardens, teaching you how to make the most of various settings and lighting conditions. 

2. Photography Basics: Learn the fundamentals of photography, including how to use your camera, framing, composition, and the importance of perspective. Discover how to turn ordinary scenes into extraordinary images. 

3. Camera Equipment: If you have your own camera, bring it along! We'll show you how to use it effectively, whether it's a Sony camera or any other brand.

4. Creative Photography Challenges: Put your new skills to the test with fun and engaging photography challenges that will spark your creativity and enhance your understanding of photography. 

5. Group and Individual Activities: Work both independently and in teams to capture stunning shots, giving you a chance to learn from your peers and share your newfound knowledge. 

6. Afternoon Tea: To keep your energy up during the workshop, we'll provide a delightful afternoon tea, complete with tasty snacks and refreshing drinks. 

7. Q&A Session: Have burning questions about photography? We'll conclude the workshop with a Q&A session where you can ask Kirsty anything you want to know about the art and craft of photography. 

Duration: The workshop will run for 1.5 hours, ensuring that you receive a comprehensive introduction to the world of photography without feeling overwhelmed.

Please note: In this workshop, we will focus on photography fundamentals that can be applied to any camera, including Sony cameras. No prior photography experience is required.

It is recommended that you, the parent stay for the majority of the workshop to learn alongside your child for best retained results.

• Camera: If you have your own camera, whether it's a Sony or another brand, please bring it along. Make sure it's fully charged, and if it uses removable batteries, consider bringing spare ones. 
• Camera Manual: If available, bring the user manual for your camera. It can be helpful for reference during the workshop. 
• Memory Cards: Have a few spare memory cards to ensure you have enough storage space for your photos. 
• Charged Camera Batteries: Ensure your camera's batteries are fully charged before attending the workshop. 
• Comfortable Clothing: Wear weather-appropriate and comfortable clothing, especially if we'll be heading outdoors.
• Notepad and Pen: A notepad and pen can be handy for jotting down notes and photography tips.
