Andy Cheung is a professional sports photographer specialising in tennis; covering Grand Slams, Laver Cup, Davis Cup and Fed Cup ties, as well as many other ATP/WTA tournaments. He travels around the world to capture those defining moments. He is staff photographer of the UK Tennis Magazine, British Tennis Coaches Council and HK SportSoho magazine, a Getty Images Contributor; as well as AIPP NSW Sports Photographer of the Year 2016 & 2017. His work has been exhibited at the Australian HeadOn Photo Festival from 2016 to 2020.

Andy also owns and runs a family portrait studio and fine art printing service for artists and photographers.

2 X Sony A1's; 1 x Sony A9; 1 x Sony A7RIV; 400f2.8; 70-200f2.8; 24-70f2.8; 50f1.2; 135f1.8; 35f1.4;12-24f4; 200-600f5.6-6.3; 18-105f4; 1.4xTeleconverter; 2xHVLF60M Flash; lots of batteries and memory cards

What is your go to in your Alpha kit and why?

If I were given only 2 lenses to work with, they must be the 400 f2.8 GM and 70-200 f2.8 GM with the trusty A9; for the simple reasons of superior sharpness, responsiveness, and maneuverability. If I'm allowed a third lens, then it will surely be the 135 f1.8 GM; a magnificent portrait lens which is ultra-sharp all the way out to the full-frame corners even wide-open at f/1.8; yet it gives the most appealing bokeh with the out-of-focus backgrounds melt away.
