Tim's first career was as an award winning architect where he ran his own practice for 25 years. He now spends time crafting and refining his visual art skills from behind the viewfinder of a camera, and sharing his insights and approach to photography on workshops and tours with his wife Robin Moon.
Capturing and distilling the essence of place was a consideration in his Architectural work, and an approach he readily applies to his photography.
The challenge of seeing with fresh eyes is one he enjoys.
What is in your camera bag?
Alpha 1 body
12-24mm lens for landscape and architectural images
200-600mm lens for bringing the details close
RX100 VII for street photography
What is your go to in your Alpha kit and why?
The Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM lens is my favourite.
Sharp edge to edge and with the f/2.8 aperture
suits interior architectural images using natural lighting.
Most memorable moment shooting with Alpha?
Our recent trip to Antarctica was a special experience, exploring a remote pristine wilderness and returning with images to share with family and friends. From wild weather conditions, to cinematic landscapes and the antics of the penguins, seals and tail flukes of the humpback whales.
