About the event

Join award-winning photographer Adam Ferguson for an intimate Q&A-style workshop where he will reflect on his extraordinary career, spanning his early years as a conflict photojournalist to his recent work documenting Australia's vast, awe-inspiring landscapes. This unique session will delve into Ferguson’s multifaceted practice, including his powerful documentary portraiture, and his newly released monograph Big Sky, which captures the boundless horizon of Australia's heartland.

Throughout the event, Ferguson will share insights from his decades-long journey, discussing the challenges and rewards of working in conflict zones, as well as the transition into exploring themes of home, identity, and the expansive Australian landscape. He’ll also share behind-the-scenes stories and the creative processes that inform his work, while reflecting on the ethical considerations and cultural narratives within his powerful images.

Adam Ferguson (b. 1978) is an Australian artist based on Gadigal Country (Sydney, Australia). He began his career as a photojournalist, covering the U.S.-led war in Afghanistan and later working internationally to explore complex narratives around conflict.
