About the event
Join Colin J. Pearce (Sony Digital Imaging Advocate), for your Astrophotography adventure at this spectacular location in the Adelaide Hills with your Sony Alpha camera. Later in the evening we may try some light painting.
Last time we were here, we caught a glimpse of tha aurora, so if conditions are right, this could be an added bonus.
This location has been chosen due to its particularly dark sky and the interesting foreground possibilities. We have been given special permission to be here, but request you donate $2 to $5 for use of the private property.
We're lucky in Australia to have one of the best places in the world to be able to see the Milky Way, and this is the ideal time of year. With modern Sony Alpha cameras we have incredibly powerful tools to capture the stars, which was impossible for normal photographers just a few short years ago.
*** NOTE: Although the night we're planning is Saturday 6th July, due to clouds being a major problem for astro, the night may have to change to any night from Wednesday 3rd to Tuesday 9th July, depending on the weather forecast. Colin will email you when the final weather forecast is known, so please check your emails, including junk email box, or phone him to confirm on 0408 426 546).
You are welcome to drop out if the particular night doesn't suit you. ***
