Four days of photography on the seascape paradise of Flinders Island

About the event

Looking to do something a little bit different? Join Sony Digital Imaging Advocate Luke Tscharke on a 4 day/3 night exploration of Flinders Island, one of Australia's most unique destinations. Flinders Island sits in the Bass Strait between Tasmania and Victoria, and boasts a great climate, along with incredible deserted beaches, orange lichen coloured rocks, dramatic mountains and abundant wildlife. It is a true seascape paradise with no shortage of places to visit. If that wasn't enough, the island also has exceptionally low light pollution meaning that it is an astrophotographers delight.

Not only will you be shown around the island by an experienced and passionate guide, but you will also receive professional in-field training, and post processing tuition back at our base.

What is included: Four days/three nights of landscape, nature, and astrophotography tuition and post processing instruction with an award winning professional photography. All accommodation and ground transport on Flinders Island only.

What is not included: You will have to pay for your own airfares with Sharp Airlines into Flinders Island. Flights depart from Melbourne (Essendon Airport) and Launceston (Launceston Airport) on the days the workshop commences and finishes. With limited options on Flinders Island, you will also have to purchase your own meals, ample time will be provided for this. It is recommended you purchase travel insurance prior to booking your workshop.

Event FAQs (For general FAQs, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions page)

Due to carry-on baggage restrictions, you will need to bring your own equipment for this workshop.
You will be responsible for your own meals for the duration of the workshop. Food can be purchased at the well stocked supermarket at Whitemark. Given its remote location, note that food may cost a little more than you may be used to. Ample time will be provided to ensure that participants have been able to purchase the food they need.
Weather on Flinders Island in March will be rather mild to hot, the climate is similar to Melbourne. Pack for warm days and cool nights. It's always a good idea to bring a rain jacket, hiking boots and non-cotton clothing to go hiking in.
