About the event
This looks like it's going to be one of our most exciting outings for Sony Alpha users in South Australia yet. There will be quite a variety of photographic opportunities for us. Come for the whole day or take part when you can (see the Schedule below).
I have arranged a private visit to the A & H Doddridge Blacksmith Shop in Angaston. This will enable us to setup tripods in the shop without being a trip hazard for the general public. They will have a volunteer blacksmith for us to photograph at work.
The museum is dedicated to the skills of the blacksmith an is steeped in history. With over 130 years of blacksmithing at this site, many of the original tools and equipment make this a real trip back in time. This is one of the very few remaining main street ‘smithies’ in South Australia.
The fee for this event is to cover the cost of the donation to the blacksmith shop, so they can stay open for us privately. Meals, drinks, travel, etc. are at your expense.
