About the event
This will be a very casual and unique event which will be hosted at the Brooklyn Standard in Brisbane, they are a New York style live band venue and will be opening especially for our workshop. No alcohol will be served or consumed during this event.
We'll be exploring all the techniques and camera equipment required to shoot in a venue that has in some places, bright coloured lights for the band, to warm low light at the bar and in some places very little light.
There are usually a few types of images captured in a live band venue or night club, including photos of the band, posed and candid shots of the patrons, as well as venue and drink shots and if permitted shots of the staff. We'll be exploring each of these by splitting up into groups to complete hands on assignments, using each other as the subjects in the different scenarios.
A selection of cocktails and alcoholic drinks will be made for photographic purposes only
As an added bonus, 1 participant will have the chance to shoot alongside me when the venue is open , with a live band and lots of patrons. (Details will be discussed at the event)
Finger food will be supplied and soft drinks will available for purchase at the bar.
