About the event

Join landscape and urban photographer Scott Howes and Wellington-based portrait photographer Rebecca McMillan for a photo walk around Christchurch CBD. We will have the latest Sony gear on hand for you to try, including new lenses and the flagship Alpha 1 II.

We'll start with a briefing in a local cafe - coffee is on us! - and then we'll go for a walk, discussing photographic techniques and offering support along the way. There will be Sony spot prizes given out during the walk too.

We'll then meet up again one week later for an online review and Q&A. This is your chance to have your images reviewed by Sony Advocates, ask questions and take away tips and tricks from the pros.

  • Street and urban photography including ideal settings and compositions to try
  • Landscape photography
  • Portrait photography including the chance to be photographed by the pros
  • Gear tips and tricks

What to bring

  • Camera body and lens (you don't have to be a Sony shooter to attend)
  • Good walking shoes
  • Clothing layers as we will be outside in winter

No, but minors should be accompanied by an adult.
Yes, please give us two weeks notice so that we can arrange for a loan camera from Sony if you require.
Coffee is on us! Additional food is pay your own way.
Comfortable walking shoes and a jacket as we will be outside for at least an hour.
Yes a minimum of five attendees is required for this event to proceed. We will confirm 24 hours prior to the event starting.

We will confirm the starting point for the meetup and walk closer to the time. It will be within Christchurch CBD and close to the main bus depot.
