Learn how to capture light trails and get the most out of your ND filters

About the event

Interested in learning how to capture dramatic light trails and get the most out of your neutral density ND filters?

Join award winning photographer and Sony Digital Imaging Advocate, Dylan Giannakopoulos at his Cityscape Long Exposure Photography Workshop held at William Barak Bridge on Friday 13th November.

The use of polarising and neutral density (ND) filters can open you up to a wide range of creative possibilities in your landscape and cityscape photography. Drawing upon the experience that he has gained from capturing landscapes around the world, Dylan has designed the workshop to teach you all about the creative and technical aspects of long exposure photography. Haida Filters have also kindly provided Dylan with a few of their M10 filter holder kits for participants to use. Please email dylangiannaphotography@outlook.com prior to booking to confirm availability and reserve a loaner kit.

At the workshop, you will learn how to:

  • Take creative control over your camera’s shutter speed with ND filters
  • Utilise graduated neutral density (GND) filters to balance the overall exposure of a scene
  • Calculate your shutter speed when using ND filters
  • Photograph car trails
  • Use long exposure techniques to add compositional elements and guide the viewer’s eye

Strictly limited to 6 attendees, the small group structure of the workshop ensures that Dylan’s able to provide plenty of one on one tuition whilst ensuring social distancing. After the workshop, you will be invited to join a private Facebook group which is strictly limited to past attendees of Dylan Gianna Photography Workshops. The Facebook group offers members a space to share their images, ask questions and learn tips and tricks from Dylan.
