Join Sony Advocate Andrew J Clarke and creative portraits specialist Sam Cullen for a unique hands-on creative portraits and post-production workshop at Canvas at the Collective!

This workshop will delve into both the technical and creative aspects of studio portrait photography as well as cover the post-production workflow. We will start with a brief introduction from Andrew before handing over to Sam who will guide you through setting up for a studio portrait session and introduce you to the equipment you will be using.
From there, Sam will teach you how to deploy all of the tools available to portrait photographers (lighting, backdrops, composition, depth of field etc) to create compelling and emotive portraits, working directly with our model Emma Hope in two hands-on 30 minute studio shoots. To minimise downtime during the studio sessions, we will split into 2 groups of 3-4 people, with the second group heading over to the post-production station where Andrew will be covering exposure/colour corrections and touch-ups in both Lightroom and Photoshop.
This workshop is open to all photographers regardless of camera model, but there will be a variety of Sony cameras and lenses (including the brand new 50MP, 30fps beast the Sony α1!) available to try out courtesy of Sony Australia and we will be using the Sony α1’s wireless tethering capabilities to fire RAW photos over to the editing station in real time for use in the editing sessions.

Light refreshments and a grazing table will be provided - please contact Andrew in advance if you have any dietary requirements. Hope to see you there!
