About the event
Community shoot hosted by Depth of Field X Dark Horse
A group of industry folk are teaming up to host photographers and videographers at the Dark Horse Wahine Mulch Session, a chance to come together, shoot bikes, and connect with some of the world-class and local women shaping the freeride MTB scene. This is the perfect opportunity to meet fellow creatives, swap ideas, learn some new techniques, and photograph some bikes.
We’ll kick things off with a coffee meetup at World Bar, where Rachel Hadfield will chat through her approach to shooting events, the basics of creating an epic MTB photo, and some important etiquette and safety considerations when shooting mountain biking. From there, we’ll head up the hill together and catch up with legends Casey Brown (founder of Dark Horse) and Soph Luther (event director) to talk about what riders and the industry look for from photographers and filmmakers.
The afternoon will be spent trackside, shooting the women as they send it on the jumps. This session is open to photographers and videographers of all levels. We’ll cover some fundamentals, but this is very much a social, community-focused shoot, not a masterclass. Come to learn, connect, and have a great time capturing some seriously good riding.
