Join Award Winning Photographers Will Godward and Denis Smith for an immersive night in the forest, capturing the magic of astrophotography and light painting.
Set deep within Kuitpo Forest, this hands on workshop is designed to guide you through long exposure photography under the stars. Working across two dedicated shooting zones, you will rotate between astrophotography and light painting, learning how each discipline can stand alone, or be combined into a single striking exposure.
In the astro zone, Will Godward will guide you through capturing the vast core of the Milky Way as it rises through the forest canopy. This includes composition, camera setup, and techniques for working in challenging low light environments.
In the light painting zone, Denis Smith will show you how to create sculptural light forms within the forest. You will learn how to use movement, texture, and colour to shape the forest and even include astro and light painting elements in a single exposure.
This workshop is suitable for all skill levels and is highly practical. You will be actively shooting throughout the night, experimenting with different techniques, tools, and creative approaches while receiving direct guidance from both instructors.
