Learn to take photos of dogs on this photo walk

About the event

Join me for a casual photo walk by Lake Burley Griffin where I'll go through some basic practical tips and techniques on photographing dogs as well as tips on how to work with dogs.

There won't be a formal structure, however I'll be going through basic principles of pet photography and you'll be able to practice as I'll have one or two dog models coming along.

Any photographers of all ages and levels of experience are welcome to attend, however having a basic understanding of how to navigate your camera will be useful. It's also a great way to talk about dogs and photography with a likeminded group, meet cute dogs and learn to take better photos of your own dog.

Please don't bring your dogs to this photo walk as we'll have one or two dogs that I will be bringing who will be our model.

Note: The event will be reschedule in the event of rain. Notice will be provided at least 2 hours prior to the event.

Techniques covered

  • Basic dog photography tips
  • Working with dogs and dog behaviour

What to bring

  • Your camera or smartphone with a camera
  • If bringing a camera, fully charged batteries and empty memory cards
  • Warm weather clothing - as it'll be a cold winter day, please ensure you dress appropriately. Also,  as you will be photographing dogs, we usually get down on the ground so wear something you don't mind getting dirty
  • Drink bottle
