The city is your playground. Can you find the frame?

About the event

Find the Frame is back for another round! This time, we're taking the adventure into the heart of Auckland's CBD.

Following the first successful Find the Frame event at the Viaduct, I'm excited to bring you another interactive photography scavenger hunt, featuring a custom-built interactive map and a fresh series of hidden visual clues to help you find the frame.

You'll use the map on your phone to navigate different locations throughout the CBD, uncover clues and mark off the ones you've found as you explore.

With the event taking place in the evening, you'll also have the opportunity to capture the city as the light changes, experimenting with different compositions, architecture, reflections and urban details.

Just like the original, this event is designed to feel more like an adventure than a standard photo walk, giving you the freedom to explore, discover and photograph the city in your own way or with friends.

MEETING POINT

Albert Park, Auckland CBD — beside the large water fountain.

Please arrive from 6.30PM for a 7:00 PM Start - so we can begin the briefing on time..

IMPORTANT

This event will involve a lot of walking around Auckland's CBD, so please wear comfortable footwear and be prepared to be on your feet for most of the session.

You'll also need a smartphone with reliable mobile internet access, as the interactive map, clue system and navigation features will need to be accessed online throughout the event.

Please be mindful of your surroundings, particularly when crossing roads and photographing around busy city streets.

THE MAP

  • At the beginning of the event, you'll be given access to a custom-built interactive map showing a number of locations scattered throughout Auckland's CBD. Each location contains a hidden detail for you to discover.

  • Simply tap a numbered location on the map to reveal a close-up visual photograph and clue, then make your way to that area and see if you can find it.

Once you find it, try to replicate the frame in the picture and then photograph it your way.

How you photograph each location is completely up to you. Feel free to experiment with different angles, perspectives and compositions.

There's no competition, no judging and no pressure to complete every location. The idea is simply to explore the city on foot, challenge your observation skills and enjoy photography in a relaxed environment alongside other photographers.

EVENT TIMING

7:00 PM – 7:15 PM | Arrival & Briefing

Meet beside the large water fountain in Albert Park, get to know fellow attendees and access the interactive map on your phone. We'll go through a quick introduction, explain how the map works and cover the event guidelines.

7:15 PM – 8:30 PM | Photo Hunt

The hunt begins! You'll have over an hour to explore Auckland's CBD, follow the clues and photograph as many hidden locations as you can.

You're free to explore at your own pace and complete the locations in whichever order you prefer.

8:30 PM – 9:00 PM | Return & Wrap-Up

Make your way back to the Albert Park water fountain for a quick debrief, group catch-up and closing words.

9:00 PM | Event Concludes

HOW IT WORKS

Once you reach each location, you'll:

Open the clue on the map → Find the detail → Photograph it → Mark it as found → Move on to the next one.

You can complete the locations in any order and spend as much or as little time at each one as you like.

You're welcome to explore with friends, in a small group or by yourself. Just make sure everyone attending has registered for the event.

Coming alone? No problem! If you'd prefer not to explore solo, I'll help group solo attendees together before we start.

All photography experience levels are welcome!

Whether you're joining Find the Frame for the first time or returning for another adventure, I look forward to seeing you there!
