About the event
Ghost Mushroom Photography Walk, Kuitpo Forest
Join award-winning landscape photographer Will Godward for a special approved ForestrySA photographic walk in Kuitpo Forest to witness one of nature’s most magical nighttime events, the glowing Ghost Mushrooms.
We will meet at the confirmed location before taking a short, guided walk into the forest. Once there, you will have the chance to see these incredible bioluminescent mushrooms glowing softly in the dark and, for those who wish, capture your own images.
Each session will run for 45 minutes, ( including 600m walk ) with time for everyone to have their moment photographing the mushrooms. Any camera is welcome, from DSLR and mirrorless cameras through to compact cameras and your smart phones. You are also welcome to come along simply to experience the Ghost Mushrooms with your own eyes.
This is a gentle forest walk designed for photographers, nature lovers, families and anyone wanting to experience something truly special in the South Australian landscape.
Please note * This location requires a 600m moderate walk into the forest at night.
TIP* Best setting results for mirrorless cameras I've found during test results - 14-24mm, 30 sec / f2-2.8 / ISO12800. Please have these settings pre-set before leaving!!
IMPORTANT !! - Please arrive no later than 15 mins before your scheduled time. Groups will leave on the hour and we're unable to wait.
