Event Overview
Join Sony Digital Imaging Advocate Jay Evans for a captivating morning photo walk along Sydney’s Glebe and Balmain Foreshore, beginning at the historic White Bay Power Station.
This specially curated route takes you through some of Sydney’s hidden gems, with opportunities for sunrise, cityscape, landscape, wildlife, portrait, street, and architectural photography. Along the way, Jay will share expert tips on capturing diverse subjects — from sweeping harbour views to the vibrant energy of foreshore life.
As part of the Sony Scene Festival, your ticket includes free entry to Scene Scape at White Bay Power Station, plus automatic entry into the Scene Fest competition to win the ultimate photography experience in Rome with Sony!

Fitness & Practicalities

Distance: Approx. 8KM walk.

Difficulty: Easy to moderate. Mostly flat, with some inclines and stairs.

Facilities: Toilets available along the route. Coffee and breakfast options at Sydney Fish Market or Tram Sheds.

Local Insight: Having lived in the area for many years, Jay will share fascinating local history and stories of Balmain, Glebe, Pyrmont, and White Bay.

Techniques covered
- Sunrise, cityspace, landscape, street, portrait, nature, action, sports... we will cover everything we see as we walk.
What to bring
- A camera. Any camera is acceptable, even just a smart phone.
- I recommend bringing a Mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses (70-200, 24-70, 16-35 combination will work well)
- Bring spare batteries.
- Bring Empty Memory Cards
- Bring a good camera bag, wheeled case or trolley.
- Bring a Water Bottle
- Bring (and wear sunscreen)
