Dive into underwater photography. Getting started. Gear and tips.

About the event

Are you looking at taking your camera underwater and don't know where to start?

Discover the fascinating world of underwater photography in this immersive online workshop. Learn how to capture stunning images of marine life and underwater landscapes. I will introduce some technical skills and focus on the equipment required for this unique form of photography. Explore the creative possibilities and unleash your inner artist beneath the waves.

What body, lens, housings, dome, lights, strobes, depth rating..... All these decisions (and costs) can make getting into underwater photography seem quite scary. Hopefully by the end of the zoom session you will be able dive right into starting capturing the ocean.

Techniques covered

  • Water skills needed before you put a camera in your hands
  • Equipment needed, how water changes optics and how to work with it
  • Surf Housings Vs Dive Housings
  • Light underwater, natural and artificial
  • Challenges of the water column

What to bring

  • Yourself, this is just an introduction session. Open to
