About the event
Join professional landscape photographer Luke Tscharke on a highly informative online workshop exploring the various techniques, apps, and online resources available to master the planning of your outdoor photography shoots.
Photography literally means "drawing with light", so it should come as no surprise that the light you have during your outdoor photography shoots will have a dramatic impact on your resultant images.
To make exceptional images you need to be in the right place, at the right time day/night, and at the right time of year. Whilst there is often a lot of luck involved, you can maximise your chances of mastering your outdoor shoot by planning.
But how do you go about planning an outdoor photography shoot? It can often be hard to know where to start. In this 2-hour introductory online course you'll learn all about the following:
Magic Hour planning introduction
Perhaps the favourite time for outdoor photography is the magic hours around sunrise and sunset. In this section we will briefly cover some of the tools available to plan your sunrise and sunset shoots, making sure that you're there at the right time and ready for action.
Night Photography planning introduction
Night photography is such a different beast to daytime photography. In a lot of ways there is much more to consider from a timing and conditions perspective. We will cover the basic tools to plan a Nightscape shoot to make it a success.
Location planning introduction
Whilst the light is a massive part of creating great outdoor images, your location also has an enormous impact. If you find places that have a great degree of visual impact, a lot of the work is already done for you. Here we will discuss some of the best ways to find great landscape photography locations, and how to make the most of the locations when you arrive there.
Weather Conditions planning introduction
You might have found a fantastic location and know the best time to be there for magic hour, but that doesn't mean that the great light will happen. For this section we will cover how to plan your shoot around the weather and other events that can impact how the light falls on the landscape.
Following the introductory session, keep an eye out for the Advanced workshops! These will cover in great detail each of the four sections listed above, to further enhancing your ability to plan and master your landscape photography sessions.
