Explore rock-pool reflections, compositions and creative long exposure

About the event

Join Keerti for a practical Landscape photography workshop along the shoreline of Long Bay Regional Park. With the tide going out towards sunset, we’ll look for compositions using rock pools, reflections, exposed reef and coastal textures.

The example images offer inspiration for the kinds of scenes we’ll explore, with our compositions guided by the conditions on the evening.

This workshop goes beyond the basics, with focused guidance on choosing your foreground, refining your composition and using filters deliberately. We’ll use ND filters to experiment with longer exposures and water movement, and explore how a circular polariser can help manage glare and reflections around rock pools.

We’ll walk along the beach, stopping to photograph different compositions as the light changes and working our way back towards sunset.

All camera brands are welcome.

📍 Long Bay Regional Park- Meeting point just outside MERC in the carpark.

This workshop is suitable for photographers who want to build confidence using their camera in manual mode, learn more about landscape composition, or understand how and when to use ND filters. If you’ve been unsure which settings to choose or how to turn an interesting coastal scene into a stronger photograph, we’ll work through those decisions together. This is a hands-on session with a smaller group, allowing time for individual guidance, questions and practice so everyone can better understand the techniques and apply them.
