About the event
Want to learn how to achieve that silky smooth water effect in your landscape images? Do you know the theory of long-exposure photography, but haven't made the jump to get your own filters? Do you have the patience to be a long-exposure master?! This is the workshop for you!
Join Sony Digital Imaging Advocate Andrew J Clarke for this series of sunset long-exposure workshops showing off some of Perth's best landscape photography locations and learn how to step up your long-exposure photography skills. The locations have been specifically selected to provide different challenges - both in terms of composition and long exposure technique.
Sun 2 August 2020 at 4:00pm - Lesmurdie Falls
Sat 8 August 2020 at 4:00pm - Como Jetty
Sun 9 August 2020 at 4:00pm - Elizabeth Quay
Sat 15 August 2020 at 4:00pm - South Perth Foreshore
Sat 22 August 2020 at 4:00pm - North Trigg Beach
While we would prefer participants to bring their own lens filters (ND and CPL) given the current health climate, if you require filters for the day, please contact Andrew (details in the FAQ below) and we will arrange for a *disinfected* filter kit to be made available. Participants will also have the opportunity to try the Haida M10 filter bracket system!
Each workshop will include a brief introduction to the core concepts involved in long-exposure photography, including example images of what to expect when using certain settings in certain conditions. From there, Andrew will guide participants to the preferred shooting locations, demonstrate his process for capturing long-exposure images and assist you with your set up. The precise programme of each workshop will be somewhat flexible as it is always best to be responsive to the conditions when shooting landscape photography!
Check out some sample images below, and feel free to join Andrew's workshops Facebook group to ask any questions in advance. We hope to see you there!
