About the event

Step up your cityscape skills with Sony Advocates Andrew and Dylan.

Join Sony Digital Imaging Advocates Andrew J Clarke (WA) and Dylan Giannakopoulos (VIC) for this unique cityscape shooting workshop on Saturday 18th January 2020, hosted in collaboration with Melbourne’s Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP).

Cityscape photography sits at the cross section of several genres of photography, incorporating aspects of landscape, architecture, urban and even real estate photography. While there are many technical considerations that overlap with these other disciplines, cityscapes present their own unique challenges in terms of composition and visual communication.

This masterclass is structured to allow participants to get exposure to both theoretical and practical elements. To kick off the workshop, Andrew will deliver a short presentation on key cityscape concepts. From there, the hosts will help attendees put the ideas discussed into practice, including assisting with setup, gear, accessories and customising any camera settings. Dylan will then guide the group to several of Melbourne’s best locations for sunset and blue hour shooting.

There will be a range of neutral density (ND) and circular polarising filters (CPL) available to try out in the following filter thread sizes: 40.5mm, 49mm, 55mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, 77mm and 82mm.

Programme:
7:30pm - 7:45pm - Cityscape presentation
