Join Sony Digital Imaging Advocate Joanne Stephan, in partnership with Sony Australia and Nanlite Australia for a hands-on sports/ lifestyle portrait workshop exploring what happens when sound creates movement.
Hosted at Smack Studios, we'll be working with a break dancer in urban streetwear and featuring Sony headphones, creating dynamic athlete and lifestyle portraits using movement, flash and continuous lighting.
The workshop is designed around MOVE. FREEZE. DRAG. You'll explore how to use continuous light to create atmosphere, colour and shape, then take things further with shutter drag to create motion trails while keeping your subject sharp.
The workshop is limited to 7 people, giving everyone the opportunity to actually shoot.
We will provide a dedicated Sony camera setup with a Sony trigger, and each person will have an individual turn shooting the shutter drag setup. Simply bring your SD card, put it into the camera and you're ready to shoot.
Shooting another camera brand? You're absolutely welcome. You can bring your own camera and shoot throughout the workshop. Just so expectations are clear, the dedicated shutter drag setup will be provided on a Sony camera system only and you're also welcome to try it!
