About the event
To coincide with his New Zealand Nocturnes exhibition, renowned photographic artist Cody Ellingham will be hosting a very special Sony Scene workshop.
Join Cody on Sunday, October 17th, for a three hour session where he will discuss his photographic practice and then lead a hands-on photo walk, giving you the opportunity to practise various shooting techniques (tripod and freehand) while exploring the Auckland waterfront and CBD at night.
As an added bonus this workshop will also include a two hour online editing session on Monday, October 18th (6-8pm via Zoom), where Cody will cover post-processing and image treatment of raw files.

- Exploring and photographing cityscapes effectively at night
- Tripod shooting on the go
- Camera settings for best results
- Getting your composition and focus right
- How to edit your images in Lightroom and Photoshop
What to bring
- Mirrorless or DSLR camera and lenses (Cody uses a 50mm prime on a full frame camera, but bring whichever focal lengths fit your style)
- A tripod is HIGHLY recommended for this workshop
- Shutter release cable or remote control (if you have it)
- Camera bag
- Comfortable shoes and warm clothes appropriate for the weather
- A rain cover for your camera in case of rain
- For the editing component via Zoom: computer with Lightroom installed
