Private Distillery Tour and Musician

We will be visiting the Route 9 Distillery in the Adelaide Hills at Balhannah.

Bookings are necessary, but free, here on the Sony Scene website.

At 11:00am we will have a private tour of this smaller boutique distillery with one of the owners, before the doors are opened to the public at 12 noon. With various shiny contraptions, there are masses of photo opportunities for you to explore.

When the public arrives, you can join in for a chat about our Sony cameras, while trying their BYOB - that’s ‘Build Your Own Board’ - of small-goods and cheeses from their charcuterie corner. In addition to their own gins and whiskies, they have a wine menu, showcasing the best of the Adelaide Hills as well as a hand selected list from abroad including Champagne, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Tuscany, Barbaresco and Barolo.

This day is chosen as it's one of their monthly Sunday sessions (on the last Sunday of each month) in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Grab a gin, a glass of wine, or a dram of whisky, add a platter of food from their menu, and then a musician will entertain from 1:00pm.

Here you will find a spectacular range of spirits being crafted from the finest ingredients, and are some of the happiest characters in town.

Their small-batch gins are made right here at Route 9 using only the purest botanicals to release savoury, floral, fruity and herbal notes that sing for themselves.   Their whisky branded as the Adelaide Hills Whisky Co is crafted from ingredients of barley, yeast, and water – whisky’s trinity of the highest order – are maturing in barrels ahead of their planned debut in late 2023.    Their rum project which is yet to be branded is dark and delicious and made from the finest molasses. If Bourbon, Port, Sherry and Cognac are speaking your language then there will be a barrel release just for you.
