About the event
Embark on a 3-day photography course that will expand your skills, ignite your creativity, and leave you with a stunning piece of photographic art. This immersive course in 2-hour daily sessions over 3 days is perfect for anyone eager to learn the art of photography from start to finish.
Day 1: Camera Basics
16th April, 1:30pm - 3:30pm
In the first session we'll show you how to use a camera effectively, whether it's a Sony camera or any other brand. If you have your own camera, bring it along, but don't worry if you don't have a camera as we'll provide one you can use for some for hands-on practice.
You'll learn the fundamentals of using your camera in a studio environment, including understanding camera settings, exposure, composition, and natural lighting techniques.
Put your knowledge into action with guided practical sessions in the studio, capturing portraits and still lifes to hone your skills!
Day 2: Photo Walk
17th April, 1:30pm - 3:30pm
Explore the surrounding area on a guided photo walk, putting your new skills to the test in a real-world setting. An additional instructor will help with this section of the course for a better adult to child ratio.
You'll receive personalized guidance as you capture images outdoors, focusing on composition, lighting, and storytelling through photography.
Day 3: Photo Editing and Art Creation
18th April, 1:30pm - 3:30pm
Learn how to import, organize, and edit your images using Adobe Lightroom, with a focus on enhancing your chosen photo for printing. You will then print your chosen photo as a 4x6” image and mount it on A4 art paper.
The second hour of this session will be an art class with Heather at Willow and Waves in the adjoining studio. You'll use your printed photo as the centrepiece for a creative drawing, bringing your image to life in a unique and artistic way.
PLEASE NOTE: This course if for ages 8 to 16 only.
