2025 Alpha Awards Photo Competition
Terms and conditions apply.*
This session is designed to help you improve your photos. We'll guide you through techniques that will have your images:
It is wonderful to have friends and family compliment you on your photographs. Learn the five key tips to create dramatic images: Subject, Composition, Simplicity, Light, and Story.
Robert Dettman (accredited judge) and Colin J. Pearce (competition administrator for the South Australian Photographic Federation) will be giving constructive feedback on how to improve your photos.
We will be meeting online, using the very popular Zoom meeting software. Before the meeting, if you haven't already, please go to the below Zoom website and sign up (using the big orange "Sign Up free" button). Please use your actual name (so we know who you are).
Then download the "Zoom Client for Meetings" from:
www.zoom.us/download
If you need help installing Zoom on your computer or phone, before the meeting please phone Colin on 0408-4-COLIN (0408-4-26546).
If you would like your photos to be reviewed, submit anonymously, or just join the meeting and learn from seeing feedback on other people's photos. This can improve your eye for photography in ways you will not expect.
Upload up to 12 of your photos in JPEG or (where possible) the original RAW format as well by 11pm on Wednesday 6th May to:
https://www.dropbox.com/request/mSsz1opNiRiJ98zWdPSr
In some instances we may show you how to adjust photos in Lightroom or Photoshop (if you use other software, the principles should be similar).
This session may also be useful if you want help choosing which photos to edit, or making any adjustments to images that you may want to submit in the Sony Alpha Awards competition, which closes on Sunday 24th May. Entries are via the Sony website at:
