Capture sunset and blue hour shots of Hobart's iconic Tasman Bridge

About the event

Join Sony Advocate Luke Tscharke and Eric Peng, and Matt V from Sony Australia for a sunset shoot at one of Hobart’s most iconic locations - Tasman Bridge. We’ll be meeting at the Tasman Bridge Lookout on the eastern shore, a spot with historical significance as the old end of Hobart's floating bridge. This location offers a brilliant view, with the bridge leading towards kunanyi / Mount Wellington and the city lights in the distance.

Event Partners & Loan Equipment

This event is run in conjunction with Stallard’s Camera House in Hobart, and there will be some Sony loan equipment available for you to try thanks to Sony Australia. It’s a great chance to get your tripod out, practice long exposure photography, and capture a classic Hobart composition.

Meeting Location

If you need a precise location, you can find it on Google Maps here. We’ll be at the lookout point from the start time, and while sunset is at 6:20 PM, we recommend arriving on time to make the most of the session. Whether you’re looking to add a standout image to your portfolio or just want to catch up with fellow photographers, this session is located and timed for you to join after work.

Equipment and Filters

A sturdy tripod is essential. We recommend bringing your own ND and light pollution filters if you plan to capture long exposures during the brighter moments of the evening. We’ll be there to help you get the most out of your camera gear and guide you in capturing a clean and memorable shot.

Techniques covered

  • Golden hour photography
  • Long exposure photography
