My Adventures South of the 60 with Intrepid Travel and Sony Australia

About the event

In November 2022 I was blessed with an incredible opportunity to spend a month aboard the Ocean Endeavour as it cruised from South America South of the 60, into Antarctica.

As we cruised up and down the Antractic peninsula across 3 different voyages, to say I fell in love with this wild and remote place is an understatement. The ocean, the landscapes, the wildlife, the adventure was a constant throughout, with no opportunity to photograph missed aboard with the rest of the team.

I got to stand on my 7th Continent, spent time with like minded photographers and fellow travellers from all over the world who came to experience the last truly wild and uninhabited continent on earth.

I have many photographs and stories to share, and thanks to the team at the Sony Store in Parramatta, I can spend some time with you to tell you all about this exceptionally epic journey.

So come and join me for an evening photo talk about our recent partnership in Antarctica with Sony Australia and Intrepid Travel at the Sony Store in Parramatta Westfield.

Sign up below to come and join us, the session is free.

Apart from showing you some of the many stunning images and video captured throughout my voyage, we will also chat about:

  • Why we went to Antarctica.
  • Antarctica Tourism and IAATO.
  • The preparation required for us to get there.
  • The gear we took with us.
  • The journey to South America.
  • The Team aboard the Ocean Endeavour.
  • How to survive 6 crossings of the Drake Passage.
  • The onboard lectures and activities.
  • The people we travelled with.
  • The places we visited.
  • The Landscapes we captured.
  • The wildlife we encountered.
  • Antarctic Amabssadors

I promise this will be a fun session for all, as we discuss the bewildering penguin encounters during mating season, the horror stories from the Drake Shake, the embaressing lack of finesse entering and exiting Zodiacs, the weight gain from all the food they fed us, the emotions experienced while cruising mirror like antarctic waters in Neko Harbour, and also stories of the hilarious fun and activities aboard with the crew, expedition team and guests.

If you are preparing to head to Antarctica yourself in the next few years, this session will give you some great information on preparing for your trip, and perhaps give you some inspiration to sign up to a voyage taking you South of the 60.
