Join Dylan on a free photowalk exploring Southbank’s iconic sights.

About the event

To celebrate the launch of Sony Scene and Sony Digital Imaging Advocate Program, join award winning photographer and writer for Australian Photography magazine, Dylan Giannakopoulos on a free photowalk through Southbank, Victoria.

From street photography to cityscapes, Dylan will guide you through the many photographic locations that Southbank has to offer. The aim of the event is to provide photographers of all experience levels the opportunity to practice and develop their skills, whilst having a fun time meeting like-minded individuals who share the same passion for photography.

Meeting at St Pauls Cathedral, the event will commence with photographing the iconic Flinders Street Station, followed by a short walk across the Princes Bridge to capture images of Melbourne’s skyline at sunset. The photowalk will continue along the Yarra River were attendees are able to capture images of street performers and the diverse range of people that visit Southbank every day. The cityscape photography will continue late into the blue hour to photograph the citylights and Crown Casinos Gas Brigade fire show (subject to weather conditions). The event will conclude at the Kings Bridge, followed by coffee for those who would like to stick around and share their images from the evening.

In addition to the photowalk, Dylan will also be providing guests with tuition on balancing the exposure triangle (ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed), composition, lighting and exposure bracketing. This provides attendees an exclusive insight into what they can expect from his upcoming Intro to Landscape Photography workshop.
