About the event
Join me for a spring photo walk shooting amongst the cherry blossoms in Cambridge during golden hour and at sunset. Photographers of all ages and levels of experience are welcome to attend. This is a great opportunity to talk photography, meet some new people, and take great photos!
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the unpredictability of the timing of the cherry blossoms, this event may be moved forward or backward by several days as blossom can start to peak anywhere between 15 September and 1 October based on previous years. I'll do my best to notify everyone early if the date needs to change.
As this is a casual event there won't be any formal teaching but I'll be on hand to offer tips for camera settings to capture great shots and give you ideas on compositions and lighting.
You don't need a Sony camera to attend this event, but a selection of Sony cameras and lenses may be available to test during the evening. Please email me at least two weeks before the event if there is anything specific you would like to try.
Techniques covered
- No formal techniques, but I will share advice on camera settings to best capture the spring blossom and using filters in landscape photography.
What to bring
- Camera and lenses. I recommend both a wide-angle lens for landscapes and a telephoto zoom lens if you want to get nice close ups of the blossom or tui that also like to hang out in the trees.
- Tripod. I do have one spare - message me if you'd like to use it.
- Filters for use at sunset if you have these. I will have spare Kase filters for people to try - please email me beforehand so I know your lens size.
