Learn how to take stunning seascape images

About the event

Join me for a sunrise photography workshop at Browns Bay beach on Auckland’s North Shore.

We’ll begin before sunrise at 6:15 am and explore how to frame and compose a coastal landscape, working with the shoreline, the cliffs with trees, foreground elements and horizon to build stronger seascape/landscape images.

As the sun gets higher on the horizon, we’ll look at how different light affects our compositions and exposure, and how understanding the movement of the tide can help us find different photographic opportunities along the beach and the stream.

We’ll work with tripods (optional) and experiment with slower shutter speeds, using the movement of the sea to create different effects and textures in the water.

We’ll photograph through the transition from blue hour into sunrise and the beautiful early morning light that follows.

This is a hands-on workshop, with plenty of time to experiment with different compositions and camera settings throughout the session.

We’ll meet at the Phoenix Plaza, Browns Bay beachfront Lane, then head down to the beach together just across the road from the meeting location - 53 Clyde Road, Browns Bay, Auckland 0630

Want to continue the morning? You’re welcome to book my Browns Bay Coffee & Breakfast Catch-Up afterwards (8:30am-9:30am) where we’ll grab a coffee, review some of the morning’s images, and work through a few simple edits together.
