Join professional landscape photographer Luke Tscharke for an immersive 3-day, 2-night photography workshop on Tasmania's stunning Tasman Peninsula. Timed perfectly with the new moon and during the current solar maximum period, this workshop offers exceptional opportunities for both landscape and astrophotography in one of Tasmania's most photogenic regions.

Workshop Overview

The Tasman Peninsula combines dramatic coastal formations, pristine beaches, and some of Tasmania's darkest skies into one remarkable location. Our base at the Lufra Hotel and Apartments at Eagle Hawk Neck provides the perfect launch point for our photography adventures, with the iconic tessellated pavement literally across the road from our accommodation.

This strategic location means we can easily access prime shooting locations for sunrise, sunset, and astrophotography while enjoying comfortable accommodation in well-appointed studio apartments with ensuites. The workshop's timing during the new moon provides optimal conditions for night sky photography, and with the current solar maximum, we have increased chances of witnessing and photographing the Aurora Australis.

Location Highlights

  • Tessellated Pavement - Our primary location for sunrise and astrophotography, offering unique foreground opportunities under dark skies
  • Remarkable Cave and Maingon Bay Lookout - Dramatic coastal formations
  • Tasman Arch, Devil's Kitchen, and Fossil Cove - Geological wonders
