• XAVC codecs — understanding formats, bitrates, and when to use each for optimal image quality and workflow efficiency.

• S-Cinetone — how to harness Sony’s signature cinematic colour profile for stunning, filmic results straight out of camera.

• Shutter angle — the creative and technical impact of different shutter settings on motion, exposure, and storytelling.

• Cine EI basics — setting exposure for maximum dynamic range and flexibility in post-production.

• Optimal camera settings — unlocking the best performance from your Sony cameras in different shooting environments.

• Introduction to lighting for video — key lighting principles, techniques, and tools to enhance mood, depth, and visual quality.

Working in a professional cinematic space, you’ll have the opportunity to test and refine your skills in real-world scenarios, with guidance from Sony Digital Imaging Advocate Eric Peng.

Whether you bring your own Sony camera or use one of the limited loan units available, you’ll leave with the knowledge and confidence to capture visually compelling, technically excellent footage — ready for any production challenge ahead.
